Lance has over 25 years of experience working in and around local authority housing, domestic energy, and sustainability policy. 

Over the last five years with the Energy Saving Trust Lance’s responsibilities have included delivery of the Department of Energy and Climate Change’s Local Authority One-to-One Programme in Yorkshire and the Humber, the North West, North East, and the East Midlands, along with carbon reduction scenario development and sustainable energy action planning.

Lance has been responsible for economic impact assessments across Leeds City Region and Sheffield City, developed Feed in Tariff business case tools for social housing clients in Yorkshire, and built a carbon reduction scenario tool for the North York Moors National Park Authority. He has worked extensively on data analysis to identify priority areas and property types for energy efficiency refurbishment in North and South Yorkshire and strategic energy efficiency refurbishment planning across the North East.

Lance has chaired a number or sub-regional energy and climate change groups in Yorkshire.
