Speaking at: East England Roadshow - Cambridge - 22 October 2013Richard initially qualified as an Environmental Health Officer after studying for a BSc (Hon’s) Environmental Health at Nottingham Trent University. He has since completed a number of post graduate management and leadership qualifications.
Richard has strategic leadership responsibility for The Energy Team at Broadland and they have been leaders in promoting the retrofit of privately owned housing stock, commercial property and community buildings for a considerable period of time. This has included using Central Government Eco Town Funding to operate projects offering financial incentives to encourage retrofits in owner occupied dwellings and community owned buildings as well as promoting other government funding available to assist householders improve the energy efficiency of their homes.
Under Richard’s leadership, the Energy Team at Broadland has been promoting the Green Deal. This has involved creating an end to end service for residents by partnering with Ridgeons Timber and Building Merchants. The team were also successful in securing over £250,000 of DECC Pioneer Places Funding to promote the Green Deal. This followed a successful bid for European Regional Development Funding to deliver the Growing Green Homes retrofit project that aims to stimulate the retrofit market within the region.
